![]() This fighter looks like a mash-up of a Clone Wars-era Y-wing, an X-wing, and a Delta-7 Jedi Starfighter. With wings that angle upwards for landing, this fighter reminds me of a Klingon Bird of Prey, and those engines are super cool. Next up, Hype Fazon’s Green Ace, which looks like it evolved from a Z-95 headhunter. The engine details look right off of an A-wing. My favorite detail is the car fenders used to create the ovals at the front. This fighter features the perfect blend of Technic panels and System elements. When compared to the on-screen source material, Mansur’s meticulous attention to detail is too good to be contained in a single photo, so read on to see each fighter of the squadron in detail.įirst up, we have Griff Halloran’s Black Ace, which is a cross between a TIE fighter and the Clone Wars-era Jedi Interceptor, and there was even an official version of the ship recently announced. LEGO fan creator Mansur Soeleman has brought a group of fighters known as Ace Squadron to stunningly detailed life. The story takes place shortly before the events of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and follow the adventures of a pilot recently recruited from the New Republic into the titular group of freedom fighters. The new animated series Star Wars: Resistance is no exception. Links below. Each new installment of the Star Wars franchise typically comes with a fleet of new spaceships large and small to allow ace pilots to show off their skills and fight for peace and justice in a galaxy far, far away. I have more color schemes of the Y-wing Starfighter as well. It can be any kind of rubber band.Īdditional info: This starfighter is compatible with the 2018 UCS Y-wing display stand.Īlso, minifigures are not included in the list of parts. The rubber band method is the easiest though. Alternatively, you could just tie a thin thread around that 1x1 studded area and then cover it up with some 1x1 tiles. That is where you will need to put a white or clear rubber band so that those 4 panels can stay together and not be flimsy. If you look at the 4 long panels on each of the engines, you will notice that there is 1x1 studded area open. The first image is completely accurate.ĭISCLAIMER: You will need at least 2 rubber bands for this build. I forgot to make that change until after I rendered the images, which is why most of them still show the white colors. That is why I made them light-bluish gray, but you can buy the white ones from bricklink if you really want to. The two technic pins on the front of the guns at the front of the fighter are supposed to be white, but that part is extremely rare and expensive. So if you choose to never extend the landing gear, that is fine because starfighter will still be able to sit on a surface level without wobbling. The bottom of the starfighter has three points of contact created by inverted curved slopes. It is easily removable if you prefer not to have it. You will easily be able to remove or put in the astromech droid. All you have to do is remove the curved tiles which are attached in by one stud each. And there is room for an astromech droid. The windscreen piece behind the bubble turrent can also easily come off to reveal a small space that you can fit a crate in. This starfighter has room for 2 pilots: One in the front, and another as a gunner in the bubble turrent. The instructions for the stand (free) can be found here: This model is meant to go on a stand that I have uploaded separately so as to not merge the 2 parts list together. This fighter was used throughout the clone wars, and we’ve seen it from season 1 of The Clone Wars show all the way up to the final season 7.
